A Soldier’s View

I have to get this into my head – war isn’t glorious. It’s not great. It’s not good.
I must have been daydreaming when I signed up for this. Once in a lifetime opportunity – yeah right. Been here a month and there is nothing great about it.
This is death, bombs, attacks and death. And death again. My job is just blood.
Watching soldiers die is not a “once in a lifetime opportunity”. It’s wrong. Death is not good. This war is pointless.
I wish…I wish I got this into my head sooner. Now there is no way out.
