Judgement Day

Today is Judgement Day! After all these months of exile and rejection I’ll finally be accepted, betreated as a human being, not a coward.
I’ll be someone who’s actually helping his country, making a worthwhile contribution.
This small bronze badge will show what I’m doing. It’ll rectify why I didn’t leave for the war like the rest of my mates.
It’s funny to think isn’t it, one small piece of metal and a slip of paper can change a man’s quality of life. Just like that one small white feather I was given once could strip a man of all his pride and dignity.
Since then I’ve seen many feathers but now those horrid days are over. Thanks to the badge, thinks are about to change, for the better, I hope.
