Ysgol Gynradd Sofrydd
Bu disgyblion blwyddyn 5/6 o Ysgol Gynradd Sofrydd yn gweithio gyda'r artist Megan Lloyd i ymchwilio distawrwydd milwyr o ddiwylliannau a gwledydd eraill. Cafodd y dosbarth eu hysbrydoli gan bwnc cyfoes India i ymchwilio profiadau milwyr o India yn y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf, gan ddarganfod i dros 1 miliwn o filwyr o India ymladd dramor rhwng 1914-1918.
Cymerodd disgyblion ran mewn amrywiaeth o weithgareddau creadigol i ddysgu am y gwahaniaethau diwylliannol rhwng milwr o Gymru a milwr o india ar faes y gad yn y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf. Fe wnaethant lampau deepa mewn clai i bortreadu cofio ac ysgrifennu llythyrau yn dychmygu'r hyn y gallai milwyr o wahanol ddiwylliannau eu hysgrifennu at eu hanwyliaid. Ymchwiliodd y disgyblion decstilau, patrymau a chynlluniau o India a'u cyfuno gyda symbolau o Gymru i greu baneri batik. Rhoddodd y disgyblion gynnig ar ddawns o India i ddysgu am seremonïau traddodiadol a chawsant lawer o hwyl yn gwisgo dillad o'r ddwy wlad.

Soffryd Primary School
Year 5/6 pupils from Soffryd Primary School worked with artist Megan Lloyd to explore the silence of soldiers from other cultures and countries. The class drew inspiration from their current topic of India to explore the experiences of Indian soldiers during the First World War, discovering that over 1 million Indian troops fought overseas between 1914 – 1918.
Pupils took part in a range of creative activities to learn about the cultural differences between a Welsh and Indian soldier on a WW1 battlefield. They created deepa lamps out of clay to portray remembrance and wrote letters imagining what soldiers from different cultures might write to their loved ones. The pupils explored Indian textiles, patterns and designs and combined these with Welsh symbols to create batik banners and flags. The pupils experienced Indian dance to learn about traditional ceremonies and had lots of fun trying on costumes from both countries.
