Clustogau Pinnau Cariad
Grŵp Artspark Caerffili
Cafodd y clustogau pinnau siâp calon lliwgar hyn eu creu gan grŵp Artspark Caerffili, gan weithio gyda'r artist tecstilau Penny Turnbull. Cawsant eu gwneud mewn ymateb i'r blwch yn seiliedig ar ddistawrwydd menywod yn y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf. Yn y blwch yma oedd copi o glustog pinnau cariad, ynghyd â broetsh Swffraget, broetsh cariad a gwniadur.
Roedd clustog pinnau Cariad gwreiddiol o'r Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf yn llawer mwy, tua 15-20 modfedd. Byddai wedi cael ei wneud gan filwr wedi anafu fel rhan o therapi adfer, a'i anfon at ei gariad.
Canolbwyntiodd Artspark ar y copi o'r clustog pinnau cariad i wneud eu fersiynau eu hunain, yn ymchwilio lliwiau llachar a gweadau cyfoethog.
Sweetheart Pincushions
Caerphilly Artspark Group
These colourful heart shaped pin cushions were created by Caerphilly Artspark group, working with textile artist Penny Turnbull. They were made in response to the box based on the silence of women in WW1. In this box was a replica sweetheart pincushion, alongside a suffragette’s brooch, a sweetheart brooch and a thimble.
An original WW1 Sweetheart pin cushion is much bigger in scale, approximately 15- 20 inches in size. It would have been made by a wounded military service man, as part of their recuperation therapy, and sent to their sweetheart.
Artspark focused on the replica sweetheart pincushion to make their own versions, exploring vibrant colours and rich textures.
